Fitness and life are all about small steps in the right direction
I have been in and out of the gym for the last 18 years of my life. I have repeatedly gone up and down in weight. Usually stopping exercise and watching what I eat as I’ve had my personal struggles thru the years.
I was talking to a friend yesterday and she has broken the habit and misses the gym.She keeps telling herself tomorrow and it never comes I tried to encourage her to just get back that first time. I have stopped countless times and put off going back. The hardest part is taking that first step. I’ve learned to dig deep when you are not satisfied with something. Make yourself uncomfortable. It doesn’t matter if its your health, career or personal relationships. Until you have had enough change is almost impossible.
I wake up and tell myself every day I’ve had enough. I’m not where i want to be physically, financially or mentally. I want better. I’m looking for a new 9-5, I have patented my first invention and will soon be trying to license it. I have started building prototype on my second invention. Started this blog and a book even though English and writing was my worst are of academic ability. Thank god for spell and grammar check.
My point is it all starts with that first step. I got back in the gym solid, I’ve focused on my diet and even added in my dreaded cardio. I always liked lifting weights but despise cardio. By slowly adding in more cardio, making changes to my diet and adjusting as time went on my small first step has turned to great change.
